Job summary

Belcan Corporation in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Materials Engineer specialized in composites and non-metallics for a 12-month renewable contract. The role is on-site, Monday–Friday, 40 hours, with a pay rate of 50–55 CAD per hour depending on experience.

You will provide technical expertise, evaluate materials for aerospace applications, support manufacturing and repair of composite structures, investigate failures, review specs, and collaborate with design, quality, and supply chain teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering required.
  • Experience with composite materials and non-metallic systems strongly preferred.
  • Aerospace industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in composite and non-metallic materials used in aerospace applications.
  • Evaluate and select materials for new product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Support production and repair activities involving composite structures and bonded assemblies.
  • Investigate material-related failures and develop corrective actions.
  • Review and approve material specifications, test plans, and engineering reports.
  • Support qualification and certification activities for new materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Provide guidance on processing, inspection, and repair of composite and non-metallic components.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to material performance and manufacturing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working with composite materials and non-metallic systems.

    • Non-metallic to metallic joining methods

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Aerospace industry experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing and production environments.
  • Knowledge of materials testing and failure analysis.
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills.
