Job summary

Babcock Canada is seeking a Senior Material Planner in Victoria, BC to lead material identification and planning for complex defence projects. You will coordinate on-site material interfaces, manage risks, and support client relations while upholding VISSC processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years experience with material identification/planning in a shipyard or similar manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a project management environment.
• Experience with IT systems to control work packages.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other project software.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
• Eligibility for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the analysing, vetting and interrogating the Work Spec from a material perspective to ensure a full and detailed understanding and interpretation of the Customer requirements.
• Manage on-site execution and material interfaces in line with current VISSC Processes.
• Manage and identify material related project risks.
• Provide material related subject Matter expertise and guidance to all project stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the client and the client’s agents.
• Comply with all working practices, standards of discipline, safety, and quality.
• Look for opportunities and efficiencies to further improve the departments output and interactions with stakeholders.
• When necessary, deputize for the Planning Manager, ensuring the team receives adequate support and guidance.
• Other duties as assigned.
