Job description

Our Calgary-based client is seeking an experienced Master Data Supervisor to join their team. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the accounting team, responsible for overseeing the entire master data function, managing other master data administrators, ensuring the data integrity of financial data, updating fixed data in the financial system, and assisting with the month-end close process. This is a 12-month contract role.

Your responsibilities include:
  1. Managing the Master Data staff
  2. Processing month-end activities
  3. Updating Business Associates in the Financial Accounting information system
  4. Setting up and updating Cost Centers, including reviewing the division of interest and allocations
  5. Establishing and maintaining new accounts in the Chart of Accounts
  6. Supporting cost centers and divisions on interest questions related to mergers and acquisitions
  7. Performing quarterly reconciliations of Master Data within the Financial Accounting system with other systems in Accounting and Land departments
  8. Participating in other accounting projects as required
Your strengths include:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance
  2. Knowledge of financial accounting information systems; experience with Qbyte is an asset
  3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  4. Experience supervising staff at various levels
  5. Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  6. Strong communication skills for issue resolution
  7. Oil & Gas accounting experience, including Joint Venture accounting, is an asset
