Job description

Position Summary:

The consultant in this role is a key member of the senior markets pricing team within the Actuarial & Analytic Services department. This role offers opportunities in pricing, product development, competitive analytics, financial planning, and forecasting. The individual will analyze and support cross-functional initiatives focused on senior product strategy and Medicare Markets. Creativity, collaboration, and the ability to drive technical solutions to completion are essential. The candidate must work effectively with technical and non-technical staff across various departments.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Support projects related to Medicare Markets, including pricing, financial planning, trend analysis, driver identification, competitive analysis, regulatory compliance, and audits.
  2. Develop analytic tools to support Medicare strategy and financial projections, providing recommendations based on analysis.
  3. Enhance data and analytic capabilities considering regulatory changes and market trends.
  4. Conduct complex financial analyses for Medicare and senior products.
  5. Provide technical and business advice to internal and external stakeholders to support strategic goals.
  6. Lead actuarial projects on complex issues and trends.
  7. Participate in ad hoc projects to support business and corporate initiatives.
  8. Ensure project completion, communicate results, and facilitate implementation.

Challenges/Problem Solving:

  • Deliver accurate financial analyses with clear, supported recommendations.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining progress on each.
  • Integrate facts from various sources, develop insights, and communicate implications.

Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of Medicare and related financial models (Medicare FFS, Advantage, Part D, and supplements).
  • Advanced technical skills and software proficiency.
  • Strong analytic skills, preferably with an actuarial background.
  • Customer service orientation with a focus on creating positive experiences.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, from assessment to solution implementation.
  • Effective project planning and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptability to new responsibilities.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative mindset.

Education/Experience:

  • 2-5 years of Medicare pricing experience required.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • ASA or FSA designation preferred; MAAA membership preferred.

Additional Details:

Location: Boston

Position Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $90,000 - $139,700, with potential for variation based on experience and qualifications.

This role is eligible for variable pay and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, health insurance, 401(k), and well-being benefits.
