Job Title: Senior Marketing Manager, Content (18-Month Contract)

We are seeking a passionate Senior Marketing Manager, Content who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-centric team environment and has experience managing print, digital, or social content. If you have a strong marketing background and a love for food, we invite you to join us!

Position Overview

This role focuses on strategy and execution to craft impactful content that tells Longo's unique story, enhances our brand reputation, and appeals to our target audience of Everyday Food Explorers. As part of the Marketing team, the Senior Marketing Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to boost awareness and consideration of Longo's products through storytelling, emphasizing our differentiators such as freshness, service, and Private Brands. Key responsibilities include leading the development of the Longo's Experience magazine, managing social media strategy, and overseeing PR initiatives to elevate our brand.

Accountabilities
  1. Develop and execute storytelling content across all channels, aligning with organizational strategies and priorities.
  2. Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of the Experience Magazine, ensuring consistency in editorial and visual content.
  3. Create content optimized for impactful storytelling in both print and digital formats.
  4. Manage proactive and reactive PR efforts, coordinating with PR agencies and internal teams.
  5. Handle inbound requests from stakeholders, ensuring timely responses.
  6. Ensure project deliverables meet business requirements and deadlines.
  7. Manage social media content strategy, planning, and execution, adapting to evolving business needs.
  8. Oversee the performance of direct reports and delegate responsibilities effectively.
  9. Promote company values of Honesty, Trustworthiness, and Mutual Respect.
  10. Conduct regular cross-functional team meetings to ensure alignment on initiatives.
  11. Set team goals aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
  12. Determine and implement advertising and communication strategies as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism, Advertising, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in food/retail.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of creative direction, digital marketing, retail processes, and communication best practices.
  • Proactive, service-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Office Suite, Mac platforms, and graphic software such as Adobe Illustrator.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions
  • Standard office environment with participation in meetings and conference calls.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Travel to various stores in the GTA as required.
  • Occasional moderate physical effort.
