Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering projects from start to finish, including concept development, feasibility, design, prototyping, implementation, and final buy-off.
- Conduct time studies and develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all work areas.
- Collaborate with the senior production team to identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and safety.
- Participate in equipment design reviews, equipment procurement, and commissioning with a focus on production impact.
- Ensure all new and existing equipment complies with Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews (PSHSR) and other regulatory standards.
- Organize and assist in the training of plant personnel on new equipment, processes, maintenance routines, and safety protocols.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and production layouts.
- Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S and visual management.
- Create and maintain equipment standards and documentation.
- Participate in ISO activities such as Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), control plans, and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental management systems.
- Conduct research and apply engineering principles to evaluate and improve production processes.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment is operational and well-maintained.
- Support capacity planning and bottleneck analysis with data-driven insights.
- Perform Return on Investment (ROI) calculations for major capital expenditures.
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to ensure new products are compatible with existing production capabilities.
- Promote and model company core values in all work activities.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules, environmental regulations, and workplace standards.
- Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe practices promptly.
- Participate in investigations and corrective actions for safety-related incidents.
- Understand and support workplace violence and harassment policies.
- Attend required Environmental Health and Safety training.

- Willingness to travel and work overtime when required.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Post-secondary education in a relevant engineering or technical field (required).
- Professional engineering designation is an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in manufacturing.
- At least 3 years of experience managing production equipment and process improvement projects.
- Hands-on experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Minimum of 5 years experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
