Senior Managing Consultant – Strategy & Transformation – Disbursements

Overview:

Services within Mastercard are responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We provide value-added services and leverage expertise, data-driven insights, and execution. Our Advisors & Consulting Services team combines traditional management consulting with Mastercard’s rich data assets, proprietary platforms, and technologies to provide clients with powerful strategic insights and recommendations. Our teams work with a diverse global customer base across industries, from banking and payments to retail and restaurants.

The Advisors & Consulting Services group has five specializations: Strategy & Transformation, Performance Analytics, Business Experimentation, Marketing, and Program Management. Our Strategy & Transformation consultants lead clients through impactful decision-making as they tackle strategic, tactical, operational, and transformational business challenges. They apply a broad set of problem-solving techniques to improve the client’s overall strategy, performance, and operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

A Senior Managing Consultant focused on leading client engagements around Disbursements / Payouts, which may be consulting in nature or data and analytics driven.

Client Impact

  • Lead a project delivery team providing insights and solutions to support clients in defining strategies for building, deploying, growing, and optimizing products driven by disbursement capabilities, leveraging digital payment rails.
  • Act as a resource to others in identifying creative and efficient solutions, guiding the team to business-focused recommendations that drive client value.
  • Develop strategies and programs for regional and global clients by leveraging data and technology solutions to unlock value.
  • Manage senior client relationships from mid-level to C-suite to drive success.
  • Engage proactively on the client agenda, internal culture, and relationship risks.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and generate enthusiasm for Mastercard and our recommendations.

Team Collaboration & Culture

  • Guide teams through complex problem solving to business-focused solutions.
  • Motivate teams to produce quality deliverables and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Own relationships with internal stakeholders including Product and Business Development.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members.
  • Contribute to Mastercard’s knowledge management and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience with launching or scaling disbursement features in North America, including managing partnerships and assessing technical capabilities.
  • Understanding of domestic and cross-border disbursement rails.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, leading teams to business-focused solutions.
  • Proficiency in structured problem solving and quantitative analysis.
  • Interest in project delivery and decision-making processes of companies.
  • Ability to inspire confidence and manage stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to identify cross-sell opportunities.
  • Leadership qualities, ownership, and risk management skills.

  • Undergraduate or master’s degree.
