Job summary

Scotiabank's Global Banking and Markets Engineering is seeking a Sr Manager Technical Analysis to lead analysis and design of technical solutions for capital markets operations. You will work with business partners, analysts, architecture, and infrastructure to translate requirements into detailed BRD, design docs, use cases, and process models.

You will oversee BA teams, coordinate SDLC activities, and ensure alignment between business needs and technology delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of practical experience and product/business knowledge in Capital Market Technology.
• 10+ years of Business Analysis / Technical Analysis experience.
• Experience in managing BA teams and regulatory initiatives in Capital Markets.
• Experience with all phases of SDLC and knowledge of FI/OTC products.

Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements and drive analysis and design of quality technical solutions within GBME.
• Develop and deliver BRDs, Design Documents, Use Cases, and Process Models.
• Develop detailed project plans, monitor progress, and secure stakeholder consensus.
• Collaborate across GBME technology teams and bridge business and IT needs.
• Support production issues and handle escalations during release cycles.

The Team

Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) is the fast-moving, award-winning technology engine that powers Scotiabank's Corporate, Investment Banking, and Capital Markets businesses.

The Role

GBME is searching for Sr Manager Technical Analysis to work closely with various stakeholders including business partners in operations and financial engineering, business analyst, architecture, and infrastructure to understand business requirements and drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions within GBME.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

• Demonstrate an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities.
• Ensure business specifications/requirements documentation is accurately prepared and comprehensive to support sizing/development efforts and as input to various project documentation.
• Develop and deliver Business Requirements Documents, Design Documents, Use Cases, and Process Models as required.
• Participate in the development of detailed project plans, the monitoring of progress against planned objectives, the financial review, and securing consensus and co-operation from users and senior management.
• Work closely across GBME technology teams during all stages of the system development life cycle and bridge the gap between business and technology sides of the solution.
• Liaising between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs.
• Build relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues in Global regions.
• Support production issues and handle escalations during Release cycles as needed.
• Perform ad hoc work as needed

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

• 8+ years of practical experience and product/business knowledge in Capital Market Technology
• 10+ years of Business Analysis / Technical Analysis experience.
• 10+ years working knowledge of Relational databases such as Oracle/SQL, with ability to create and run queries independently.
• Candidate should be FRM certified (Nice to Have).
• 5+ years of experience in managing BA teams.
• Experience working as a Business Analyst across various regulatory initiatives in Capital Markets.
• Experience working with all phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
• Good understanding of FI and OTC products and their pricing.
• Functional testing experience in PROD and NON-PROD environments.
• Exposure to Risk Watch (Nice to Have)
