S'more about the team

The Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing will own and execute strategy and operations for all ingredient sub-categories within Grocery (i.e., Dairy, Dry, Spices, Processed Goods, Baked Goods, and HelloFresh Market). Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, you will be responsible for strategic sourcing activities, quality and sustainability aspects of our products, and the general management of our supplier network required to meet our ingredient specifications. You will also lead negotiations with vendors, develop new product offerings, and guide procurement process improvements. By engaging closely with suppliers, supply chain teams, and our culinary department, you will play a key role in building the best meal kit product in the market.

Lettuce share what this role will be responsible for

1. Refine and implement a sourcing and supply chain strategy for our Grocery categories that maximizes quality, reduces risk, and increases profitability.
2. Be accountable for category performance: delivering savings initiatives, ensuring on-time/in-full/in-quality delivery from all vendors, supporting internal stakeholders to execute the plan. You will be recognized as the Subject Matter Expert across the organization for all aspects of the Grocery categories.
3. Develop a culture of continuous improvement, both internally and externally, through strong vendor relationships, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvements, and implementing best practices.
4. Build and maintain a strong supplier base aligned with our company values; own relationships with strategic suppliers, including performance management and innovation activities.
5. Partner with internal stakeholder groups, particularly Procurement Operations, Quality & Technical, and Product, to execute projects and improvements from ideation to national launch and performance review; provide project management support for Grocery initiatives across the supply chain.
6. Coach and mentor a team of direct and indirect reports.
7. Other duties as assigned by your manager and leadership team.

1. 5 - 10 years of experience in supply chain, operations, management consulting, or strategic sourcing, with a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or related discipline.
2. Authentic leadership: direct communicator, able to build strong relationships across the company at all levels, coaching and mentoring employees of all levels.
3. Great collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
4. Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize to meet deadlines and objectives.
5. Top-notch problem-solving skills—creative, collaborative, and relentless in overcoming hurdles.
6. Strong analytical and data skills: translating numbers into actions and approaching problems with data and facts.
7. Strong knowledge and interest in strategic sourcing and continuous improvement processes.
8. An entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for solving complex problems.
9. Availability to travel within Canada and occasionally internationally, up to 15%.
