BDO's Strategic Pursuit Centre (SPC) is seeking a S enior Manager to join our team of dedicated proposal professionals. The Senior Manager will be responsible for providing oversight to the national SPC team, a Centre of Excellence (COE) that is responsible for managing the pursuit process across the country for both our public and private sector marketplace.

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Senior Manager is responsible for offering strategic insight, influencing change, and managing the SPC team.

Responsibilities include :

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the SPC team
  • Leading the managers to ensure intake and triage of proposals is clear and efficient
  • Stakeholder management and provide leadership and guidance on pursuit-related issues
  • Supporting the strategic direction for the team with contributions from Managers and leadership
  • Building awareness and driving utilization of the SPC by presenting the service offerings, and intake model across the firm
  • Regular reporting of key metrics and insights to leadership (wins / losses / win rate / revenue, utilization / debriefs etc.)
  • Monitoring services delivered to clients (engagement / pursuit teams), drives process improvements, and facilitates 360-degree feedback with clients
  • Ensuring the team receives regular feedback
  • Providing advice and guidance to the SPC Managers and firm leadership as to how to best achieve the objectives of the strategic plan
  • Leading and influencing change to ensure alignment to strategic priorities

Education And Professional Skills / Knowledge

  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related discipline; a university degree is preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in pursuits, proposal development, and opportunity management within professional services, consulting or related sectors.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing end-to-end proposal processes, including RFx response coordination, content development, and quality assurance, across both public and private sector clients.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a cross-functional team, manage complex timelines, and engage senior stakeholders with credibility and strategic insight.
  • Strong knowledge of project management concepts and tools, with a structured approach to planning, execution, and issue resolution.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate consensus, influence outcomes, and tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to balance multiple priorities, operate in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, and work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, process optimization, and enhancing the pursuit experience for internal stakeholders and end users.
  • Proficiency in virtual team leadership and collaboration across distributed teams and service lines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, or other collaboration platforms is an asset.
  • Strong facilitation skills and comfort contributing to strategic initiatives, including technology implementation, KPI development, and reporting.
  • Experience in change management and driving adoption of best practices across pursuit teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
