Job summary

Saputo Inc. seeks a Sanitation Senior Manager to support Site Leads across plants. You will lead sanitation efforts, drive best-in-class processes, and ensure SSOP adherence. The role requires ~25% travel within Canada and strategic coordination across multiple facilities.

The position emphasizes leadership, GMP compliance, and continuous improvement in sanitation across the dairy/food operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 7+ years sanitation experience.
  • Proven leadership, teamwork and quality mindset.
  • Strong communication and analytical abilities.
  • Experience evaluating CIP/COP and sanitation chemistry.
  • Knowledge of GMP and Food Safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee sanitation operations across all plants and identify improvements.
  • Lead initiatives to establish sanitation standards across locations.
  • Maintain relationships with chemical vendors and suppliers.
  • Develop sanitation training initiatives and SSOPs.
  • Support plant sanitation objectives and optimize resources.
  • Drive chemical, water and energy usage efficiency.
  • Address audit findings and develop corrective actions.
  • Lead Sanitation Site Leads development and yearly reviews.
  • Manage equipment funding with key suppliers.

Overview of the role

Saputo is seeking a Sanitation, Senior Manager to support existing Sanitation Site Leads across plants. The Sanitation Senior Manager is directly responsible for the sanitation efforts and leads key projects to achieve sanitation goals at each assigned plant. The individual is a key thought leader and contributor to the operational efforts of the sanitation departments, driving best‑in‑class processes, tools, and harmonization across the assigned plants. This position is accountable for adherence to SSOP, continuous improvement, and all processes and initiatives within the sanitation department. The role requires approximately 25% travel within Canada.

How you will make contributions that matter
  • Oversee sanitation operations at all assigned plants and identify improvements in overall performance
  • Lead initiatives to establish sanitation standards across all assigned plants
  • Maintain strong relationships with chemical vendors and suppliers
  • Drive and develop new sanitation training initiatives and Sanitation Standard Operational Procedures (SSOP)
  • Support plant objectives pertaining to sanitation at assigned plants
  • Ensure overall optimization of chemical, water and energy usage
  • Support plants in developing corrective actions for NC identified during internal & external audits
  • Facilitate the development and leadership of the Sanitation Site Leads at each assigned locationWork with the plant on a yearly Sanitation Review
  • Manage equipment fund from key chemical supplier
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of related sanitation experience within dairy, food, and/or beverage industry
  • Proven ability to lead, influence and inspire people and promote quality, safety, and teamwork
  • Strong computer skills
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking abilities
  • Organization, mechanical aptitude, problem‑solving, decision‑making and technical skills with experience with CIP systems; ability to evaluate sanitation processes including CIP, COP, and sanitation chemistry attributes to determine the most efficient methods
  • Effective communication and analytical skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with Current Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety guidelines to ensure sanitary production environment and quality products
  • Supports Saputo’s commitment to preserve the environment by following all established policies related to such preservation

Salary

Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training. The base pay range is $106,870 – $140,270.
