Job summary

Saputo Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor for an existing opportunity within our organization. You will lead, schedule and develop our production workforce, ensuring safe, efficient operations and adherence to quality standards.

The role requires 3+ years in dairy or food manufacturing, post-secondary education in relevant fields, and strong leadership with excellent communication. Day shift 6:00am to 4:30pm, 4 days per week; salary $80,130 to $105,170 CAD with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Food Sciences, Dairy Technology, Microbiology or related education/experience.
• Minimum of 3 years’ progressive experience in Dairy or Food manufacturing environment.
• Thorough knowledge of Dairy operations with emphasis on processing and sanitation.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, preferably in a unionized environment.
• Must be self-motivated, results oriented, possess high degree of initiative, work well under pressure.
• Strong team orientation and proven leadership skills; Superior communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office) analytical and organization skills.
• Available to work on a monthly rotating shift (day and afternoon shifts).

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safe, efficient and effective use of the workforce, equipment and material resources.
• Provides leadership, direction, guidance, supervision, evaluation, motivation and training of production employees.
• Schedules equipment and personnel to meet production targets.
• Uses operational data to measure trends and communicate results.
• Prepares written communications and progress reports for senior management.
• Ensures quality, sanitation and environmental standards in liaison with QA and Technical Services.
• Liaises with Maintenance to minimize downtime and safeguard product safety and quality.
• Maintains safe conditions and protects employee health and safety.
• Reviews and maintains inventories and daily sales projections.
• Manages recruitment, performance and attendance, and labour planning.
• Supports Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.’s quality standards.
• Builds and maintains internal and external relationships.
• Other duties as required

Overview of the role:

Saputo is seeking a Production Supervisor, for an existing opportunity within our organization.

How you will make contributions that matter:

• Ensures the safe, efficient and effective use of the workforce, equipment and material resources;
• Provides leadership, direction, guidance, supervision, evaluation, motivation and training of production employees.
• Schedules equipment and personnel to ensure production requirements/targets are met on a timely basis;
• Effectively uses operational data daily to measure and communicate trends; reinforces positive results and initiates corrective actions as appropriate;
• Prepares effective written communication including work procedures and notices to progress reports for senior management;
• Ensures that both Company and Governmental quality, sanitation and environmental standards are met through close liaison with Quality Assurance and Technical Services Department, as well as frequent review and implementation of such Policies;
• Liaises with the Maintenance Department to minimize downtime and ensure product safety and quality;
• Ensures safe conditions at all times; takes appropriate action to protect the health and safety of employees;
• Reviews and maintains inventories, monitors daily sales projections, ensuring adequate stock of all products;
• Responsible for personnel management including recruitment, performance and disciplinary, time and attendance and labour planning;
• Supports and maintains Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.’s quality standards;

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
