Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end‑to‑end planning, coordination, preparation, and submission of regulatory documentation to federal and provincial bodies.
  • Support institutional compliance with evolving regulatory requirements while upholding the University’s standards of quality, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously refine standardized templates and institutional content for regulatory submissions.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with academic, administrative, and executive stakeholders to gather, validate, and finalize submission content.
  • Manage complex review and approval schedules, ensuring timely sign‑off from senior leadership and on‑time government submissions.
  • Advise teams on regulatory requirements, submission guidelines, and government relations considerations throughout the submission and approval lifecycle.
  • Provide strategic guidance to mitigate regulatory risk, streamline workflows, and reduce the likelihood of delays or compliance issues.
  • Support the development and launch of new academic programs by advising on regulatory requirements and submission guidelines.
  • Maintain robust tracking systems and comprehensive records for all submissions, approvals, and regulatory communications.
  • Champion continuous improvement by integrating feedback from regulatory reviews to enhance processes, documentation quality, and institutional readiness.
Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree with demonstrated advanced writing and editing ability is required. Degrees in the social sciences or humanities are considered strong assets.
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in regulatory submissions, grant writing, program management, compliance, policy development, or a related role.
  • Experience in a regulated or non‑profit sector (e.g., healthcare, government, non‑profit, professional associations) is considered an asset. Direct higher education experience is not required.
  • Evidence of producing professional‑quality written work (policy documents, annual reports, regulatory reports, grant applications, or equivalent) at a high standard.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, multi‑stakeholder projects with strict deadlines and high standards for accuracy.
  • Experience managing review processes with senior executives and/or external oversight bodies is an advantage.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and content creation skills, with proven attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, from senior executives with both academic and corporate backgrounds to academic faculty and external agencies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with document, workflow systems, or project management tools is an asset.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and commitment to excellence.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the ability to thrive under evolving regulatory landscapes with tight timelines.
  • Proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Collaborative and collegial team player who thrives in cross‑functional environments while also maintaining independence and accountability.
  • Detail‑oriented, disciplined, able to maintain accuracy and composure under tight deadlines.
