Job summary

Qualifications

  • CPA or equivalent accounting designation.
  • 5+ years of regulatory reporting experience with automation tools.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and apply them.

  • Advanced Excel and data handling skills.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ongoing communication with regulators and business units across geographies to resolve reporting discrepancies.
  • Lead the analysis and interpretation of new accounting and regulatory requirements and design data collection processes.
  • Provide clear guidance to finance units on new requirements.
  • Evaluate the impact of regulatory changes and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Suggest process and control improvements to strengthen compliance posture.
  • Lead automation projects for regulatory reporting with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Collaborate with internal auditors and regulators as needed to support audits.

Job Description
What is the opportunity?

Partnering with the Director, Platform Financial Control, the Senior Manager, Regulatory Reporting - Wealth Management will lead the completion of regulatory reporting for Wealth Management Financial Control. This includes managing regulatory reporting processes for OSFI, Bank of Canada, CDIC, and Statistics Canada. The role encompasses overseeing automation initiatives, implementing new regulatory requirements from Head Office Finance, interpreting regulatory changes, and delivering accurate, timely, and consistent reporting. As a key member of the Platform Financial Control team, the Senior Manager will enhance systems, processes, and controls to ensure data integrity. This position requires strong technical and project management abilities, analytical rigor, effective communication skills, and commitment to continuous learning.

What will you do?
  • Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of key control processes around regulatory reporting.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with regulators and business units across geographies to resolve reporting discrepancies and issues.
  • Lead the analysis and interpretation of new accounting and regulatory requirements, assess reporting implications, design data collection processes and reporting templates, and identify automation opportunities.
  • Provide clear guidance to finance units on new requirements.
  • Evaluate the potential impact of regulatory changes and communicate findings to business stakeholders, legal, and compliance teams.
  • Recommend process, policy, and procedural changes to support the bank's compliance posture.
  • Spearhead key automation projects for regulatory reporting, collaborating with stakeholders across Lines of Business and Head Office.
  • Collaborate with internal auditors and regulators as required to support audit deliverables and address open questions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and enhanced controls to strengthen Finance operations.
  • Support other Wealth Management financial control activities and related processes.
What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • CPA or equivalent accounting designation
  • 5+ years of relevant reporting experience, including demonstrated proficiency with automation tools and large data sets
  • Ability to interpret complex legislative and regulatory matters and apply them operationally
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present complex regulatory concepts clearly to employees at all organizational levels
  • Strong knowledge of risk management principles and control frameworks
  • Advanced technical skills, including proficiency in Excel
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented
Nice-to-have
  • Strong knowledge of RBC systems, products and reporting processes
  • Exposure to regulatory reporting requirements to OSFI, Bank of Canada, CDIC, and Statistics Canada
