Job Description:

As a Senior Manager - Procurement, you will work closely with the Sourcing team, Procurement Operations team, Functional Leadership team, and Key Stakeholders on competitive cost sourcing initiatives supporting key business areas across multiple spend categories. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to generate insights that minimize the total cost of ownership in the assigned categories and deliver value to the organization.


Role:

  • Lead and develop a diverse team, coaching and developing competencies required for current and future needs.
  • Provide leadership and expertise in various areas, including category strategy support and development, RFX development and oversight, market analysis, and supplier negotiations.
  • Coach the development and execution of source plans for key spend categories.
  • Support and advise on contract negotiations, development, and execution with key supply partners.
  • Champion cross-functional project teams to enable sourcing strategies.
  • Mentor team members to develop constructive supplier relationships across various categories.
  • Accountable for delivering annual key performance indicators, including cost reduction targets in assigned categories.
  • Provide coaching and advice on bids, analysis, and negotiations for goods and services.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all purchase orders according to BlackBerry standard processes.
  • Oversee the business relationship with key suppliers, including ordering, communication of demand/volume/delivery time changes, issue resolution, sharing end-user feedback, and follow-up on backorders and quality claims.
  • Develop a strong understanding and knowledge of incumbent and disruptor suppliers and their capabilities.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure continuity of goods and services that meet the quality, service, and price performance standards of the company.
  • Identify, prioritize, initiate, and impact key business opportunities.
  • Work with stakeholders and leadership teams to implement and enforce policies that increase spend visibility and compliance.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Post-secondary education, preferably in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Food Science.
  • 10+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing/Procurement or a related discipline.
  • Experience in implementing complex cost reduction strategies for a Tech/Software company.
  • Regular demonstration of emotional intelligence and empathy; leveraging diverse team member skills, perspectives, and experiences to drive engagement and results.
  • Superior analytical skills – able to draw insights and form clear recommendations for the team and stakeholders.
  • High level of energy and enthusiasm with the ability to shape strategy with influential leadership.
  • Effective and clear communication skills.
  • Well organized; able to balance multiple competing priorities to move procurement endeavors forward.
  • Model sound decision-making and a proven ability to navigate, adapt, and respond quickly to volatile, ambiguous, uncertain, and complex situations.
