The Revenue & Marketing Unit is responsible for CARE Canada’s externally facing initiatives. The team is fundamental to achieving our goal of inspiring Canadians to join us in this journey with a brave and bold voice and through innovative partnerships and sustainable, balanced revenue sources.

Reporting to the Director, Philanthropy, the Senior Manager, Philanthropy will play a pivotal role in advancing CARE Canada’s mission by developing and implementing comprehensive philanthropic strategies. This role involves cultivating and stewarding relationships with major donors (individuals, corporations, and foundations), and other key stakeholders to secure significant financial contributions. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to CARE Canada’s mission, a proven track record in fundraising, and exceptional leadership skills.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in major gifts / fund development.
  • Proven experience raising gifts over $100,000.
  • A university degree or college diploma with a focus on fundraising, project management or another related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly for donor communications.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High proficiency and experience in working, on a daily basis, with Raiser’s Edge NXT or an equivalent fundraising database.
  • Proven experience working cross-functionally, with team members at all levels, and ability to project manage and implement complex projects.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and comfortable managing through ambiguity.
  • Strong and successful experience in relationship building; demonstrates professionalism, a donor-centric service orientation, as well as proven and positive collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build, manage and maintain respectful and engaged relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize complex and sensitive material and use it to develop proposals and reports, and to present appropriate, well-informed messages to current and prospective donors.
  • The successful candidate will possess strong experience in relationship building, demonstrate professionalism, service-orientation, excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU EXTRAORDINARY

  • Prior experience successfully managing and coaching staff.
  • Experience in the International Development Sector an asset.
  • Facility in French is an asset.

REQUIREMENTS

Promote and maintain an organizational culture that advances gender equality, reduces power abuse and inequalities, and fosters trust and safety.
