Through a developed network with diverse stakeholders in the oncology community, including DANs (Drug Access Navigator/Coordinator), clinics, patient associations/groups, and healthcare providers, the individual will translate key insights from these relationships into strategies that will influence program decisions to design and improve the delivery of patient support programs that meet the oncology patient needs.

  • Share oncology therapeutic knowledge and expertise through training and feedback mechanisms to program team members.
  • Stay up to date on the national oncology healthcare landscape that encompasses treatment access and affordability.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in oncology research, treatment, real-world evidence from PSPs, access, and affordability.
  • Stay current on legislative changes that affect patient support programs.
  • Participate and gather the latest trends and developments on program offerings and technology from external sources, including conferences.
  • Act as an internal consultant in the development of oncology program resources, ensuring they meet both client and patient needs (including health literacy).
  • Identify and map key stakeholders within the oncology ecosystem (e.g., patient advocacy groups, healthcare professionals, DANS, industry partners).
  • Build and foster key oncology stakeholder relationships to understand and implement engagement strategies and ensure alignment with organization goals.
  • Act as a liaison between the organization and various stakeholders, facilitating communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct regular meetings, consultation/advisory workshops, and other engagement activities to build relationships and gather feedback.
  • Support the business development process including proposal development and launching new programs.
  • Attend client presentations and offer expert advice on program design and offerings.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of experience in oncology care, including time as an Oncology Drug Access Navigator/Coordinator.
  • Strong understanding of oncology patient support programs.
  • Knowledge of the oncology care landscape, including patient/caregiver needs and reimbursement processes across provinces and territories.
  • Awareness of current trends and evidence-based guidelines in oncology care, including product pipelines.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, including oncologists, oncology pharmacists, oncology nurses, and patient association staff.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how to work with patient advocacy and community groups.
  • An extensive knowledge of the Canadian healthcare system.
  • Understanding of the Canadian market access process, including health care technology assessments and public and private payer listing process.
