Senior Manager of Standards & Business Sections

Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) is a national, not-for-profit association representing the electrical and automation industries, contributing to Canada's net zero future, intelligent buildings, smart infrastructure, and Industry 4.0. EFC’s 260 member companies include manufacturers, distributors, manufacturers' representatives, and field service organizations. We are seeking a full-time Senior Manager of Standards & Business Sections to collaborate with EFC’s manufacturer members on developing industry positions regarding Canadian installation codes, electrical product standards, and related business topics. This hybrid role is based at our head office in Toronto, Ontario, with some travel required.

The role involves managing various business sections focused on specific product categories, influencing industry standards and codes, and contributing to climate change initiatives relevant to these categories. The senior manager will participate in technical committees related to standards development, the CE Code, and electrical safety, and will work with marketing and statistics departments on communications and market intelligence.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Managing EFC’s business sections, including administration, meetings, coordination, facilitation, and project management.
  2. Representing EFC members on third-party standardization committees (CSA, SCC, ISED, etc.) and with industry stakeholders.
  3. Leading industry responses on proposals related to Canadian installation codes and electrical standards.
  4. Collaborating with the statistics department for market intelligence requests.
  5. Engaging with the membership department for member engagement and section recruitment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Engineering or Certified Engineering Technologist.
  • At least three years of relevant experience.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical details effectively.
  • Robust project management skills and the ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Proven ability to develop consensus as a facilitator.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with energy-efficient solutions is an asset.
  • Basic electrical concepts knowledge; experience with CE Code or standards development is an asset.
  • Self-motivated, curious, analytical, resourceful, and proactive.
  • Results-oriented with strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative, open-minded, flexible team player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
