We’re looking for an inspiring and innovative Senior Manager, Learning & Development to shape the future of our talent and organizational development. Reporting to the Vice President of People & Culture, you’ll lead the design and delivery of cutting-edge learning programs that empower our teams, foster leadership growth, and drive business success.
As a key partner to business leaders and experts, you will ensure that BCAA’s learning initiatives align with our strategic vision and foster a culture of continuous improvement. From overseeing our Learning Management System (LMS) to crafting engaging, tailored learning experiences, you’ll ensure that every team member is equipped to thrive. This is a hybrid role based on our Burnaby, BC (British Columbia) Head Office. Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our 4567 Canada Way office and/or are not looking to relocate to BC will not be considered for this position.
Who you are:
- A passionate Learning and Development (L&D) leader with 7+ years of experience, including 3 years in leadership, dedicated to building transformative training experiences that drive real growth.
- A deep expert in adult learning theories, instructional design and learning science, using your knowledge to develop programs that are engaging, accessible, and impactful for diverse learners.
- A champion of leadership and professional development, creating initiatives that foster growth, encourage participation and inspire individuals at all career stages.
- A tech-savvy professional skilled in using digital learning tools and LMS platforms to build interactive and inclusive learning experiences that connect with today’s diverse workforce.
- A flexible problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced, ever-evolving environments, using creativity to turn challenges into opportunities for everyone to succeed.
- An inclusive leader who motivates and supports teams, fosters collaboration, and builds a culture of growth where all individuals feel valued and empowered to reach their potential.
What you’ll do:
- Shape and drive a dynamic learning and development strategy that empowers growth and aligns with business goals.
- Develop and implement brand new learning infrastructures that meet the diverse needs of teams across the organization.
- Design innovative, engaging training materials that reflect the latest product updates and resonate with modern learners.
- Lead the charge in ensuring all L&D programs deliver measurable results with strong cost-benefit impact.
- Guide and inspire a high-performing L&D team, fostering a culture of continuous growth and development.
- Harness the power of modern technologies, like LMS and AI tools, to build immersive and accessible learning experiences.
- Continuously assess and refine learning initiatives using feedback and data to keep pace with evolving organizational needs.
What You Bring:
- Expertise in Learning: Bachelor’s degree in education, learning and development, instructional design, organizational development, business, or a related field. Strong foundation in adult learning theories, instructional design, and learning science to create effective, engaging learning experiences.
- Leadership Experience: 3-5 years of experience leading and inspiring teams, driving results, and fostering a culture of growth and collaboration.
- Program Design & Delivery: At least 7 years experience in developing and delivering impactful learning programs, including leadership and professional development.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficient in LMS platforms and digital learning tools to build seamless and interactive learning environments.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to motivate, inspire, and lead others toward achieving their potential.
- Adaptable & Agile: Highly flexible with a knack for navigating ambiguity and shifting priorities, always ready to pivot and meet deadlines.
- Master of Organization: Exceptional planning and organizational skills, able to prioritize and manage time to consistently hit goals and deadlines.
- Goal-Driven: Passionate about exceeding performance expectations, with top-notch communication and interpersonal skills to connect with others in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Team Player: Collaborative mindset, always focused on collective success and fostering a 'one-team' mentality.
- Analytical Insight: Knowledge of assessment and psychometric tools to measure and improve learning outcomes.
- Continual Growth: Learning and development certifications (preferred) to demonstrate your commitment to staying ahead in the field.
The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000 and is determined via job-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 12.5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 20%.
