Job description

Do you have 15+ years of experience leading complex engineering or operational capability transformation programs in aerospace, have you worked in digital thread rollouts (PLM, ERP, MES) and cross-functional capability development, and would you like to progress and develop new skills? Then this job is for you!

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for a Senior Manager - Head of Business Capabilities Integration – Process, Methods, Tools & Data to join our Digital & Business Transformation team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will operate under a dual reporting line linking operational program steering under the VP Development with functional governance toward the VP Digital & Business Transformation.

You will be part of the A220 Program team responsible for defining, integrating, and securing the operational capabilities and digital thread required across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to design, build, certify, and support the next aircraft variant through to in-service operations.

The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Your role as Senior Manager - Head of Business Capabilities Integration – Process, Methods, Tools & Data will be to direct a core team of 5–10 specialists and steer readiness across an extended multi-functional team of 250+ contributors across Canada and Europe to deliver the integrated capability roadmap.

Your working environment:

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is headquartered in Mirabel, in the greater Montreal area, where the vibrant city of Montreal is just a stone’s throw away. Known for its peaceful and safe environment, the region offers a high quality of life for younger or experienced professionals and families, perfectly balancing career opportunities and outdoor activities that makes it a truly special place to call home.

How we care for you:

  • Financial rewards: Attractive salary, annual bonus, group insurance plan, pension plan and share purchase plan.

  • Work / Life Balance: A hybrid working policy (based on operational needs), on-site cafeterias and a highly competitive holiday policy.

  • Wellbeing/Health: Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Discount Program, on-site Medical Service, access to a public shuttle service between Laval (Montmorency metro station) and Mirabel, and a carpooling application.

  • Individual development: Great upskilling opportunities and development prospects with unlimited access to +10.000 e-learning courses to develop your employability, certifications, accelerated development programmes, national and international mobility.

Your challenges:

  • Integrated Capability Roadmap: Lead the capability roadmap ensuring engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and customer service teams have validated processes, methods, tools, and data to meet development gates, certification targets, and production ramp-ups.

  • Program Alignment: Serve as the focal point within the A220 program, aligning aircraft milestone timelines with transversal capability readiness to resolve critical interdependencies and clear operational roadblocks.

  • Core Pillars Structure: Structure and govern capability releases across four core pillars: People (skills, culture, ways of working), Process (converged methods to support development), Data (integrity and governance), and Technology (including PLM, ERP, and MES toolchains).

  • Cutover Governance: Lead formal cutover governance, validating operational readiness, user acceptance, process simulations, and data integrity alongside On-Time, Quality, and Cost (OTQC) gates before clearing capabilities for rollout.

  • Matrix Leadership: Direct a core team of 5–10 delegated functional specialists, driving a program-focused culture and shared accountability across a matrix of 250+ contributors in Canada and Europe.

  • KPIs & Value Delivery: Define operational KPIs and deliver tangible business value (shorter development cycles, reduced engineering rework, steady manufacturing ramp-up) across each transformation wave.

  • Handover & Continuous Improvement: Lead structured handovers into the operational "Run" organization and run post-deployment reviews to feed lessons learned directly into future program gates.

  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all deployed capabilities, methods, and tools comply with airworthiness regulations, Export Control, and Cybersecurity standards.

Your boarding pass:

  • Aerospace Leadership: 15+ years leading complex engineering, operational, or capability transformation programs in aerospace or complex discrete manufacturing, with a proven ability to turn strategy into practical multi-year roadmaps.

  • Lifecycle & Digital Thread Expertise: Hands‑on experience across the aerospace product lifecycle, including rolling out integrated digital thread and enterprise tools (PLM, ERP, MES) into live engineering and shop‑floor environments.

  • Capability Deployment: Solid experience turning aircraft program requirements into adopted operational capabilities (processes, methods, tools, data, and skills) across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, and customer support.

  • Dual-Reporting & Matrix Influence: Proven ability to lead within a dual‑reporting program structure, guiding delegated core specialists and aligning cross‑functional networks without relying on direct line authority.

  • Business & Data Transformation: Strong background connecting business process engineering, data governance, and organizational change alongside digital rollouts.

  • Executive Credibility: Strong operational credibility to engage, challenge, and align senior program and functional leaders across Canada and Europe.

  • Methodologies & Governance: Hands‑on experience with structured program methods, including Scaled Agile (SAFe), Portfolio Governance, and multi‑stream Release Management.

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent practical industry experience.

  • Languages & Mobility: Strong professional English is required; French/English bilingualism is strongly preferred. Willingness to travel internationally.

Travel Required: <10% Domestic and International.

Possible on-call duties during week-ends and/or holiday seasons.

Due to the sector of activity (aerospace), frequent contacts with Airbus entities worldwide, and interactions with suppliers and clients also located across the globe, proficiency in English is required for this position.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.
