About the Role

You will be the architect responsible for designing and building standards, scaling our infrastructure across the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, delivering repeatable, high-quality, branded outputs in Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint. This role is focused on designing, building, and maintaining an end-to-end data analytics and automation platform to further enhance and support recurring financial due diligence, business valuation, performance monitoring, business insights, and client reporting. This role requires experience and understanding of financial concepts, and comfort working with financial datasets such as general ledgers and ERP exports.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a centralized Microsoft Fabric data platform, underpinned by OneLake, for ingestion, transformation, modeling and reporting of financial data;
• Use Dataflows Gen2 (or other ELT/ETL tools) to automate ingestion from Excel, CSV, and other accounting systems and ERP exports;
• Build leading practice security standards and ensure each client’s data is landed and built with appropriate access and security;
• Build semantic data models to create curated views of GLs, subledgers, TBs, financial metrics, etc.;
• Build semantic models and reusable components for EBITDA, net debt, working capital, trailing twelve-month analyses, among others;
• Design professional client centric visuals and outputs, and publish Power BI dashboards for FDD and valuation workflows;
• Integrate Power BI datasets with Excel Power Query and PowerPoint templates to drive live or refreshable deliverables;
• Implement anomaly detection, forecasting models, or classification techniques using Notebooks, Python scripts or built in tools inside Fabric, these components/approach should be reusable between clients;
• Develop and maintain dynamic dashboards in Power BI, optimized for clarity and simplicity;
• Design and manage API integrations to ingest financial and operational data into Microsoft Fabric pipelines and dataflows; and,
• Provide technical guidance to our non-technical team and help scale internal best practices.

Experience & Education

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence roles;
• Direct experience building in Microsoft Fabric is required;
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Power Query, DAX and Python;
• Experience working with REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, and handling JSON or XML payloads for financial or ERP systems;
• Experience working with financial datasets (GLs, TBs, ERP exports, etc.) is strongly preferred;
• Proven ability to build client-ready deliverables with exceptional design polish;
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML techniques (e.g., anomaly detection, forecasting, clustering); and,
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.

Preferred Certifications

The following certifications are considered an asset:

• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate;
• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate;
• Relevant certifications in Python, AI/ML (e.g., Datacamp, Coursera, Microsoft Learn); and,
• Microsoft Data Analytics Certificates.
