Job summary

Scotiabank in Toronto, Canada, seeks a Senior Manager of Finance Analytics and Transformation to lead Project Workdays calculations and the contractor accrual process across Canadian and US technology projects. You will oversee financial analysis, drive process improvements with Global Finance Technology, and partner with project teams to ensure accurate reflection of costs in the bank's results.

CPA/CFA/MBA assets; 5–7 years FP&A experience preferred.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• CPA, CFA, or MBA designation is considered an asset.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, expense management, or related area.
• Strong analytical, data management and detail-oriented skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of SQL queries and SSMS.

Responsibilities

• Leads and provides financial oversight, accountability, analysis, and reporting of the Project Workdays process.
• Provides Finance oversight for the Project Workdays accounting process.
• Performs analysis and creates reporting to support Management insight requirements into Project Workdays.
• Responsible for performing calculations and analysis to set bank-wide Project Workdays annual rate.
• Investigates and coordinates with Finance and the Project Management teams to resolve Project Workdays related issues.
• Supports internal audit investigations into Project Workday capitalization.
• Manages the central contractor accrual process for Pool-funded resources.
• Executes ongoing process re-design and continuous improvements by identifying and documenting business requirements that can be translated into technical solutions and works with the GFT team to implement changes.

The Senior Manager is responsible for leading the Project Workdays calculations and accounting process for all Canadian and US Technology projects. They are accountable to ensure that the Project Workdays costs are correctly reflected in the Scotiabank financial results. This involves detailed oversight and analysis of the overall results as well as the underlying data. This role also manages the Contractor pool accrual process, including detailed analysis and calculations. Process re-design and system improvements collaboration with Global Finance Technology teams is part of this role as well.
