What you'll do:

  1. Provide day-to-day financial support, reporting and analysis to 180+ stores across the country
  2. Analyze weekly and monthly trends to identify early warning indicators of potential issues and/or opportunities for improvement and inform business partners
  3. Provide weekly and periodic forecasts in conjunction with business partners
  4. Period end reporting for tracking initiatives business-specific and enterprise initiatives as well as financial performance
  5. Preparation of annual budgets by Store, District and banner with a consolidated Total Superstore view
  6. Focusing on Latest Estimate forecast on a periodic basis
  7. Responsible for tracking period end entries and ensuring accurate reporting and managing accruals
  8. Liaise with other functional areas (Accounting, Finance, Operations, Inventory and Merchandising) to co-ordinate cross-functional analysis and data accumulation.
  9. Participate in various committees to ensure the voice of the Banner is heard and is incorporated into new processes and reporting
  10. Working with the business & LRE team to prepare capital approval presentations and tracking to ensure the CE3 targets are met
  11. Ensure that all processes have been accurately documented to allow for smoother transitions and resource allocation
  12. Manage, train and motivate direct report/s. This includes explicit consideration of on-the-job training needs for each direct report, arranging appropriate training, and providing timely feedback
  13. Assist with ad-hoc and cross-functional projects and initiatives as required

What you bring:

  1. Completion of CPA and/or MBA designation is an asset
  2. 5+ years of relevant work experience or a similar combination of education and relevant work experience in an analytical / business planning role
  3. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders and build strong working relationships
  4. Strong communication skills with an emphasis on verbal reasoning, conflict resolution and listening skills
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  6. Superior time management and organizational skills
  7. Strong technical skills (accounting practices/standards, computer skills, etc.)
  8. Proactive individual with the ability to effectively manage various projects simultaneously to strict deadlines
  9. Demonstrated ability to interact with people at various levels of an organization
  10. Familiarity with SAP and MicroStrategy will be an asset
  11. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
