As part of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Manager, Expense Management, Global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), supports the expense management team in financial planning and forecasting processes. They play a critical role by conducting financial analysis (ad-hoc, forecast, profit & strategic plan) and supporting insightful, timely financial reporting. The senior manager also supports the Bank's forecast and annual profit planning processes, maintains financial models and systems, and prepares presentations for senior executives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Support the Global FP&A Director, Expense Management, and VP in ad-hoc analyses requiring data analytics and financial modeling.
- Develop presentation materials for executive management, simplifying complex financial concepts into visual representations.
- Assist in preparing the Bank's profit & strategic plan, forecasts, and executive presentations.
- Review and analyze business line and All-Bank financial results, and prepare financial reports.
- Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities, including internal material preparation for executives.
- Manage Expense Policies, including preparation of materials and updates for quarterly meetings, and respond to inquiries.
- Support FP&A transformation projects and identify opportunities to leverage technology for analytics and reporting.
- Support technology solutions and the Bank’s technology roadmap for automation and scenario modeling.
- Build relationships with stakeholders across the forecast and planning process to ensure accuracy and meet deadlines.
- Consider the Bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions.
- Ensure operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk controls are in place and effective.
- Promote a high-performance, inclusive work environment.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial trends and make recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying messages to senior management.
- Advanced Excel skills for financial modeling and PowerPoint skills for presentations.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with all management levels.
- Sufficient accounting knowledge to understand performance metrics.
- Attention to detail in financial modeling and reporting.
- Experience with Anaplan, financial transformation initiatives, or project management is an asset.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is an asset.
- Post-secondary degree in Finance and Accounting with 5+ years banking experience.
- Accounting or postgraduate designation (CPA, MBA, CFA) preferred.
- Understanding of financial planning and forecasting best practices and Bank’s business lines is an asset.
