What will your typical day look like?

As part of our Deal Transformation & Post Merger Integration Team (DT&PMI) you will directly support our Partners and Directors. Your day-to-day responsibility will be to lead a team, quantifying and qualifying revenue growth, cost reduction and working capital opportunities; developing an approach to executing these opportunities and working with clients to ultimately realize the benefit financially. You will be responsible for ensuring that the committed results to the client are executed and delivered on-time on budget are of impeccable quality.

Travel: When engaged in client site-based work expect up to 100%, otherwise a hybrid work environment that includes client, office and home.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing the discreet project approach, key event schedule, management system, process and managerial behavior improvements as appropriate to the client and project scope.
  • Preparing regular feedback, presentations, critiques, documentation and performance updates to the client and Deloitte management.
  • Providing leadership, management and training to the internal team.
  • When required, training the client management team on the methodology, including the management operating system, process improvements and managerial behaviour change required to support substantial incremental improvement to the bottom line.
  • Collaborating with Partners and Directors across Deloitte to identify opportunities for Enterprise Profitability.
  • Participating in the upfront business development proposals that include financial and operational diagnostics and analyses to design an approach and cashflow that meets the client’s business requirements.
  • Contributing to the knowledge of Deloitte by developing and submitting methodology, updating current tools/templates and designing new tools/templates to improve how we impact the profitability of our clients.
  • Compliance with client workplace health and safety regulations when applicable.

About the team

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, ambitious, results oriented individual to make a significant contribution to our dynamic and growing DT&PMI. Situated within Strategy, Risk and Transactions (SRT), Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), our team plays a pivotal role as clients transform their businesses.

While this role is primarily focused on Enterprise Profitability, it does also include deal activity from time to time (such as Operational Due Diligence). You will focus your efforts on executing engagements around cost reduction, working capital and revenue growth management. You will want to combine your financial and operational management consulting skills and abilities with our proven approaches and methodologies to drive results for our clients. Clients will include both those in the M&A cycle as well as those outside the cycle. These clients will be across the Consumer, Energy Resource & Industrials, Financial Services, Government, Technology and Telecommunications and Private Equity sectors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Finance degree and/or Master’s degree an asset.
  • Minimum 7 years of work experience in management consulting or direct equivalent including a minimum 4 years of experience managing projects that include revenue, cost, and working capital where EBITDA and cash flow improvements were measured.
  • Fluent in both financial and operational key performance indicators.
  • Ability to analyze financial data (balance sheet, income statement, cashflow) and identify financial and operational opportunities.
  • Ability to travel to client sites and offices across Canada and at times the US as required.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills to lead, train, develop and hold employees accountable.
  • Demonstrated performance in consistently meeting or exceeding project deliverables and objectives.
  • Positions based in Quebec: Bilingualism in French and English is required for this position due to the nature of the role having interactions with National & Global clients and project teams.
  • Ability to communicate confidently across all levels of an organization.
  • Desire and comfort to work directly with clients at all management levels on a daily basis.
  • Strong facilitation and persuasion skills.
  • High level of energy, persistence, and strong desire to achieve results.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (in particular Excel and PowerPoint).

Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $234,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
