Job Overview

Responsibilities
  1. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and People Business Partners on complex employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  2. Identify and analyze employee relations trends and risks, developing strategies to mitigate them and enhance employee experience.
  3. Lead and develop the Employee Relations team through guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
  4. Manage complex employee investigations, ensuring thoroughness, impartiality, and compliance.
  5. Partner with legal and HR teams to interpret employment laws and ensure policy compliance across geographies.
  6. Develop and maintain fair, consistent employee relations policies aligned with company values and legal standards.
  7. Coach managers and employees on communication, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  8. Collaborate with the broader People team to ensure a cohesive approach to employee matters.
  9. Implement proactive employee relations initiatives to improve engagement and reduce conflicts.
  10. Analyze data and investigation outcomes to identify trends and inform training and preventative measures.
  11. Resolve employee grievances promptly and fairly.
  12. Support organizational changes with employee relations expertise, ensuring legal and policy compliance.
  13. Maintain accurate, confidential employee records.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in Employee Relations, especially in high-growth, global environments.
  • Leadership experience in managing and developing teams.
  • Deep knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to handle complex employee issues and investigations.
  • Strong policy development skills.
  • Excellent communication, mediation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to influence at all organizational levels, including senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and identify trends.
  • Discretion and sound judgment in sensitive situations.
Additional Details

Pay Grade: N

Equity Grade: 6

Base salary range: $150,000 - $200,000 per year.

Affirm is a remote-first company, with flexibility to work from anywhere within the country, with some roles requiring occasional office presence.
