Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Development and Operations, Thermal Energy will report to the Vice President, OEC Renewables. The incumbent will execute organizational strategy, lead operational excellence, and manage the development lifecycle of low carbon thermal energy projects.

This role involves a hybrid work model, combining office work and travel related to project development and execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop low carbon thermal energy projects across Canada, focusing on Ontario, including Geo-exchange, sewer heating recovery, and low carbon district energy.
  • Lead all aspects of project development and execution.
  • Manage a portfolio of operational projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers.
  • Implement performance processes and monitor key performance indicators.
Qualifications
  • University degree in environmental sciences, engineering, business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong leadership, sales, customer service, and relationship management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to manage multiple complex projects.
  • Knowledge of building codes and experience in engineering building and community energy systems.
  • Understanding of the thermal energy sector and regulatory frameworks.
Work Experience
  • 8+ years in engineering, development, and operations of low carbon energy systems, including geo-exchange, sewer heating, and district energy systems.
  • Experience in feasibility, project development, and operations of low carbon thermal energy technologies.
  • Proven track record in developing and managing low carbon energy projects.
