Role impact :

The Senior Manager, Data Solutions Delivery has accountability for the end-to-end coherence of the technical design and its ability to achieve the expected outcomes in a manner consistent with expectations and aligns with D&T’s enterprise architecture and information security standards.

The Senior Manager, Data Solutions Delivery plays an active role in leading strategic projects and initiatives. The role is accountable for working closely with business partners to align on scope, and will maintain the technical roadmap of technology solutions in collaboration with their respective business stakeholders.

The role manages the technical build team and is accountable for all work performed by the team under their leadership. The Senior Manager, Data Solutions Delivery possesses an in-depth knowledge of relevant technologies, as well as a clear understanding of desired business goals and objectives of the technology-enabled products within their remit, and the business functions they support.

What you will deliver :
Communication
  • Represent, interface with, and engage relevant business partner(s), acting as a fully integrated team leader representing aligned technology and business interests.
  • Strive to be a “trusted advisor” to business stakeholders.
  • Ensure business needs are sufficiently defined to enable successful initiative delivery.
  • Establish and enforce clear goals to ensure a common understanding of planned outcomes and shared purpose during initiative delivery.
  • Ensure technical decisions and their implications are clearly translated and articulated to business partner(s).
  • Communicate status inside and outside the team.
Development
  • Create, maintain, prioritize, and sequence all initiative delivery and/or product backlog in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the creation of functional and nonfunctional requirements, user stories, and acceptance tests as required.
  • Manage and plan the implementation of the agreed technology roadmap in collaboration with Project/Product Managers and other Business Stakeholders.
  • Work closely with CF’s architecture function to ensure alignment to standards and facilitate standards updates or development.
  • Act as the team’s technology decision-making authority.
  • Ensure Business Stakeholders are aware of technology decisions' implications.
  • Ensure Technical Solutions are compliant with Information Security requirements.
  • Coach development team members as required.
  • Ensure Quality Management processes and standards are adhered to and effectively applied by testing and the broader development team.
  • Participate and/or lead project planning, architecture design, technology reviews, and project demonstrations.
  • Create, maintain, prioritize, and sequence team activities based on mutually agreed business objectives.
  • Facilitate the creation of functional and nonfunctional requirements, test plans, and cases.
  • Prioritize new projects/enhancements in alignment with relevant business partners and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with business partners to align scope and timing expectations.
  • Ensure alignment and adherence to standards and enterprise requirements with CF’s architecture and Information Security functions.
  • Provide feedback on technical designs and technology delivery activities as required.
  • Implement industry or technology best practices as appropriate.
Application Support
  • Support Incident resolution and Problem management processes as required.
  • Track systemic issues and champion root cause remediation activities.
  • Establish and monitor service levels to ensure adherence.
  • Assist with internal and external communication.
  • Lead prioritization and resolution of defects/bugs aligned with Business objectives.
Management
  • Be regularly accessible to the team and proactively support development activities.
  • Steer initiatives to ensure delivery of desired business objectives.
  • Lead the team with visibility, vocality, and objectivity.
  • Provide encouragement, recognition, and support, leveraging performance management tools and techniques.
  • Suggest changes to initiatives if necessary for achieving desired outcomes.

What you need to succeed :
  • 4-year college diploma or university degree in computer systems design, computer science, or equivalent work experience (10+ years).
  • Minimum of 2 years project management experience and 5+ years related stakeholder experience.
  • Experience in data management practices, including data modeling, data integration, and data quality management.
  • Proficiency in BI tools (Tableau, Power BI), data analysis tools (SQL, Python), and data warehousing technologies.
  • Good understanding of data engineering principles and hands-on experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Thorough understanding of waterfall and agile methodologies, software development lifecycle, and testing practices.
  • Understanding of organization’s development platform and languages.
  • Ability to understand technical issues and apply IT best practices.
