About the role

The Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Operations, ensures IT security by managing tools, conducting vulnerability assessments, and leading a cybersecurity team. Collaborates across departments for risk management and incident response.

Office Location : Ottawa (preferred), Montreal (QC), Toronto (ON) considered.

What you’ll do :

  • Manage daily security operations, threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and continuous monitoring.
  • Collaborate with IT, legal, compliance, and HR to embed risk management practices and develop cybersecurity protocols.
  • Report to senior leadership on trends, risks, compliance, and collaboration effectiveness.
  • Configure and optimize security tools like SIEM, firewalls, IDS / IPS to meet policies and regulations.
  • Manage relationships with security vendors, evaluate products, and oversee renewals and escalations.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, prioritize risks, and oversee remediation efforts.
  • Lead incident response, ensuring swift, coordinated action and minimal business impact.
  • What you should have :

  • Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Security, Information Systems Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional designation such as CISM.
  • 10+ years in IT Security, familiar with cybersecurity frameworks, privacy laws, and incident management.
  • 5+ years in cybersecurity team leadership.
  • Expertise in threat and vulnerability assessment, application security, and industry standards.
  • Knowledge of PII security standards (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and network protocols.
  • Proficiency in ITIL and network security controls.
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Certifications like CISSP, GSLC, GCCC.
  • Knowledge of security technologies and standards (NIST, ISO, etc.).
  • Understanding of Canadian laws and regulations.
