Senior Manager, Cross Border Individual Tax

Position Overview

Make an impact with our Cross Border Individual Tax team as a Senior Manager. This diverse team of professionals delivers customized tax strategies within a complex and dynamic regulatory framework. As a trusted advisor, you'll provide tax advice on domestic and foreign assignments that empower client organizations and their employees to maintain regulatory compliance and mitigate risk.

Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple client-facing engagement teams managing U.S. and U.S.-Canadian individual income and estate tax return preparations for U.S. citizens in Canada, U.S. residents working in Canada, and Canadians investing in the U.S.
  • Assist in cross-border income tax and estate planning.
  • Deliver expertise related to Canadian and U.S. individual income tax, social security, and international tax treaties through client interactions and technical reports.
  • Participate in expatriate policy and compensation design and implementation.
  • Manage engagement planning, scheduling, and project financials such as budgets, billing, and collections.
  • Review work for accuracy and quality control.
  • Network within the local business community and contribute to business development and proposal preparation.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and process improvements.
  • Mentor and develop team members through feedback and performance reviews.
  • Maintain flexibility for travel as needed.
Skills and Experience
  • CPA designation.
  • Master’s degree in U.S. taxation or law is an asset.
  • 7-8 years of relevant public accounting or tax consulting experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Canadian and U.S. individual and estate tax laws.
  • Proficiency with forms 1040, 8621, 5471, and 3520.
  • Strong understanding of business, accounting, and management principles.
  • Proven leadership and relationship management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and planning skills.
