Role Overview: Support counterparty market risk (CMR) by managing margin sufficiency analysis for all trading counterparties, market risk for financing business, and enhancing counterparty credit risk analytics. The CMR team identifies and assesses key market risks impacting counterparty exposures, using analytics and customized tools to highlight tail and concentration risks, and integrating inputs from credit and market risk teams for comprehensive risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a customer-focused culture to enhance client relationships and leverage bank resources.
- Understand, control, and report counterparty market risks in line with policies and risk appetite.
- Oversee portfolios from a margin sufficiency perspective; provide independent analysis for margin requests.
- Collaborate with Credit Officers to understand portfolio risks and develop a tail risk library for global Margin/Haircut frameworks.
- Leverage TFRM market risk officers' expertise to enhance CCR oversight.
- Develop margin sufficiency analytics, models, and tools to support CCR management.
- Support risk adjudication by providing margin sufficiency analysis for new deals and amendments; participate in committees as needed.
- Assist in stress testing development, oversee market risk exposures, and communicate risks to senior management.
- Review new product proposals, recommend limits, and ensure adherence to risk appetite.
- Support regulatory and audit projects; advise on valuation adjustments and ensure proper valuation methodologies.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify issues and develop strategic solutions.
- Collaborate across teams to enhance risk measurement and monitoring; escalate data deficiencies and model gaps.
- Participate in system enhancements and upgrades.
- Understand and incorporate the bank’s risk appetite and culture into daily activities.
Qualifications:
- Quantitative undergraduate degree (e.g., finance, mathematics, statistics, engineering); Master’s preferred; CFA/FRM/PRM progress or completion is a plus.
- Deep understanding of financial markets, risk analysis, and derivatives valuation.
- Market risk knowledge of OTC businesses and SFTs.
- 5+ years experience in counterparty credit or market risk management.
- Knowledge of ISDA/CSA, MRA, GMRA documentation and regulatory guidance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
- Ability to manage projects independently and collaborate effectively.
- Excellent communication skills suited for a fast-paced environment.
