Job summary

Nutrition International is seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Finance in Ottawa, a permanent full-time role reporting to the Director, Corporate Finance. The incumbent will lead the corporate finance function, oversee month-end and year-end closings, and ensure accurate financial information for global reporting.

You will manage tax filings, audits, and internal controls, while serving as the NetSuite Finance owner and developing processes for cash flow and investments.

Qualifications

• University degree in accounting, finance or business and CPA/CA/CGA/CMA designation.
• Minimum 7 years accounting experience with 2+ years in management.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead corporate finance at NI HQ, ensuring accurate financial information and timely reporting.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closes and consolidate financial reporting across NI.
• Oversee tax, regulatory filings, audits, and internal control environment.
• Act as NetSuite owner for Finance; manage chart of accounts and intercompany framework.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to the Corporate Finance team.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Finance, the Senior Manager, Corporate Finance leads the corporate finance function at NI’s Headquarters, and provides analytical and technical support to the overall global finance unit. In this role you will:

• Oversee the production of accurate and timely financial information including reviewing and approving journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis. Manage the consolidation of financial reporting across NI. Coordinate all month-end and year-end cycles.
• Responsible for filing of tax, regulatory documents, and other statutory filings. Support country & regional office registrations, including corporate signing officers.
• Assist in the development of policies and procedures. Ensure that NI policies and procedures are being followed, and an adequate internal control environment is being maintained.
• Ensure appropriate management of cash and cashflow requirements across NI. Assist with NI’s financial investments, including cashflow forecasting, monitoring investment performance, and updating accounting and management reports.
• Coordinate the annual external audit process for HQ. Prepare the draft financial statements, including note disclosures.
• Act as the functional owner of NetSuite for Finance, with deep working knowledge of the chart of accounts, segment structure, consolidation configuration, and intercompany framework.
• Ensure the day-to-day HQ Corporate Finance functions are performed by the team in a timely and effective manner.
• Provide people leadership to the Corporate Finance team including coaching, performance management, and development opportunities. Create conditions for high employee engagement while ensuring high-quality output.

About you

• You will have a University degree in accounting, finance or business and completion of a recognized Canadian accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA).
• You will also come with a minimum of 7 years accounting experience; and at least 2 years in a management role with very strong people leadership skills.
• Sound technical and professional knowledge of finance and accounting, especially Canadian reporting standards.
• Adept at identifying process improvements and workflow efficiencies while maintaining robust oversight and internal controls.
• Good judgement in analyzing data and information and adapting procedures to accommodate new or unusual situations.
• Fluency in English is essential and working capacity in French is an advantage.
