The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Audit Manager with a strong background in ICFR and PCAOB standards to join our audit team. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to lead complex audit engagements, manage teams, and provide guidance on regulatory compliance and financial reporting.

Your key responsibilities:

  1. Plan, execute, and oversee audit engagements in compliance with PCAOB standards and SOX requirements, ensuring quality and effective project management.
  2. Lead and mentor audit team members, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.
  3. Maintain current knowledge of changes in audit regulations and accounting standards, including PCAOB updates and SOX compliance requirements.
  4. Coordinate with clients to understand their business, risks, and controls, tailoring audit plans to their specific environment.
  5. Review financial statements and audit workpapers to ensure they meet professional and regulatory standards.
  6. Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  7. Present audit findings and recommendations to clients and prepare comprehensive reports.
  8. Manage multiple projects and deadlines, with a focus on client service and quality deliverables.
  9. Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services.
  10. Contribute to the firm's business development activities and internal initiatives.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  1. CPA or equivalent designation required.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of audit experience in a public accounting firm with significant SOX and PCAOB exposure.
  3. Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing audit engagements and teams.
  4. Strong understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting, and financial statement presentation.
  5. Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills, including proficiency in US auditing standards and practices.
  6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients and team members at all levels.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Willingness and ability to travel as needed to meet client commitments.
  9. Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
  10. This role involves interaction with clients operating nationally and globally. Bilingualism in both French and English is therefore a requirement of this role.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  1. Additional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or CIA can be a plus.
  2. Experience with Big 4 firm preferred.
  3. Specialized industry experience in Energy, Telecommunications, Mining, or Financial Services.
