As the Senior Manager, Compensation Programs, you will be a key architect of our global compensation strategy, supporting our vision to be an employer of choice. You will lead the development, governance, and execution of global compensation programs that reflect our values, align with business goals, and enhance the employee experience. You will act as a strategic partner and trusted advisor within the Total Rewards team, implementing scalable solutions that support our growth as a global organization. Your role will involve strategic thinking combined with operational execution across areas such as job architecture, incentive programs, pay equity, transparency, governance, and executive and equity compensation. You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams including People & Culture, Finance, and senior leadership to ensure our compensation programs are competitive, equitable, and forward-looking—balancing global consistency with local relevance.

This position is primarily based in North Vancouver but offers hybrid work options. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

If you were the Senior Manager, Compensation Programs, your core activities would include:

  1. Partnering with the People Systems, Analytics, and Operations team to optimize and automate global compensation processes, including bonus and incentive programs, to support scalability and operational efficiency across markets.
  2. Overseeing the delivery and continuous improvement of annual compensation cycles, including merit reviews, bonuses, and long-term incentives (LTI).
  3. Translating compensation strategy into actionable plans by collaborating with P&C Business Partners, Finance, and regional HR teams.
  4. Supporting communication and change management efforts to ensure understanding and adoption of compensation programs.
  5. Managing the development and governance of our global job architecture framework in partnership with Talent Management.
  6. Conducting regular job audits and evaluations to maintain framework integrity.
  7. Serving as a subject matter expert and policy owner for global compensation governance, including pay transparency, pay equity, and compliance.
  8. Leading initiatives on pay equity, transparency reviews, and compliance with global legislation.
  9. Managing compensation reporting related to governance, disclosure, and compliance standards.
  10. Supporting global equity plan administration, including tracking, reporting, and employee inquiries.
  11. Leading executive compensation programs, including market assessments and offer development for senior leaders.
  12. Advising executives and leaders on complex compensation issues, including executive pay, equity plans, and incentives.

Future projects may include:

  1. Executing our multi-year global compensation strategy in collaboration with FP&A, business leaders, and P&C teams to align rewards with organizational goals.
  2. Transforming our global retail bonus program delivery by streamlining operations and ensuring consistency at scale.

Are you our next Senior Manager, Compensation Programs?

  • You have 8+ years of progressive compensation experience, ideally in a global organization.
  • You hold a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) credential or equivalent experience.
  • You possess strong knowledge of compensation strategy, pay equity, job evaluation, and compliance standards.
  • You have experience leading global compensation initiatives such as job architecture, incentive plans, and governance.
  • You are proficient with compensation tools, systems, and methodologies, including Excel and HRIS platforms.
  • You excel at creating compelling presentations for leadership using PowerPoint.
  • You demonstrate strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading high-performing teams.
  • You have proven ability to advise and influence cross-functional partners in a matrix environment.
  • You have advanced project management skills and a successful track record of executing complex initiatives.
  • You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are adaptable.
  • You are passionate about your work and outdoor activities.

Salary Range: CAD$125,000 - CAD$172,000 annually. Compensation within this range depends on skills, experience, education, and training. The upper range is for candidates with exceptional expertise or transferable experience. Note that this range reflects base salary only; bonuses and benefits are additional.
