  • Providing meaningful and tailored insights based on a combination of understanding an organization’s internal talent and compensation needs, along with external market practices and applicable legislation
  • Conducting external market reviews and assessments to help organizations better understand their compensation and total rewards competitiveness relative to their peers
  • Designing and implementing workforce and executive compensation and total rewards strategies and structures, as well as incentive plans that align to an organization’s pay-for-performance environment
  • Designing and implementing job evaluation systems and providing job description writing and evaluation support
  • Conducting pay equity assessments and analysis (Federal and Provincial) to support an organization’s pay equity compliance strategy
  • Conducting total rewards assessments and analysis to support organizations in identifying potential changes to elements of their total rewards package
  • Participating in M&A and post-harmonization compensation and total rewards engagements
  • Preparing client reports and presentations, including recommendations presented to senior management, HR leaders, boards of directors, and executives
  • Managing client relationships and acting as the main point-of-contact on compensation and total rewards projects
  • Leading and providing guidance to a team of analysts in the completion of multiple compensation and total rewards projects
  • Participating in team brainstorming sessions to develop client recommendations

Skills and attributes for success

  • The ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic team-oriented environment
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to work under changing client needs and tight timelines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; with the ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree majoring in business, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or HR
  • Minimum 8-10 years of compensation and/or relevant work experience (consulting experience preferred)
  • Significant project management experience, leading multiple projects and managing multiple timelines, with the ability to lead a team to achieve project goals and deliverables
  • Strong technical, critical thinking, and analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative) with the ability to apply these skills to a new environment and new projects
