Overview

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Senior Manager, Community Safety and Wellbeing will carry the responsibility for ensuring Community Safety and Wellbeing of Tenants across all properties within LMCH. The Community Safety and Wellbeing program is responsive to the unique character of LMCH’s challenges, contributing to maintaining safe and successful tenancies while ensuring that excellent customer service is a primary consideration.

This includes supporting a vision for community development that drives LMCH’s purpose of providing clean, safe and well-maintained homes and engaging with broader community and partnerships to develop strategic partnerships to ensure success (Public Tables, working with external agencies like London Police Service) working with partners to support strategic vision.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and review programs to identify escalated situations within Tenancies which include identification, flagging, processes for referrals and leveraging resources to ensure complex tenancies are effectively managed.
  • Provide direct support when required to support complex tenancies and escalated manners when standard operating procedures is not sufficient to ensure safe and successful tenancies.
  • Contributes to documentation of Tenant Journey Mapping in functional areas which includes identifying programs and services which Tenants experience.
  • Research and data gathering for journey mapping process, creation of Tenant personas in functional areas, mapping tenant journey and visualizing the journey maps.
  • Review, identify and address pain points and challenges to ensure Tenant journey mapping is leveraged effectively in responsible program areas.
  • Provide leadership, vision, and ownership of program development in functional areas within areas of accountability.
  • Research, recommend, and implement program and policy changes to support the evolving needs of Tenants within the organization.
  • Soliciting meaningful and effective feedback from Tenants in development programs that support community development and safety.
  • Drafting and when required, presenting reports and information to Board and Board Committees regarding program performance and performance indicators.
  • Provide leadership, support and direction to engagement strategies of Tenants and Community Safety.
  • Ability to research and maintain currency in various disciplines within functional areas.
  • Appointment, development, mentorship, and management of a diverse professional group.Provide leadership, mentorship and collaboration to direct and indirect reports.
  • Experience in executing in a performance-based employee performance management program.
  • Have experience managing in a Unionized environment, preferably in a Social Services / Public Sector environment.
  • Collaborate, support, and lead teams of Social, Human, Public Service, Social based professionals in developing effective systems for needs assessment and identification.
  • Collaborate and support Complex Tenancy Manager in development effective systems for tenants needs assessment and identification.
  • Support and lead Community Engagement Manager in increasing brand awareness across community partners.
  • Support in identifying key community partners for organization and establishing outreach plan with regular meetings and community-based events.
  • Develop, implement and manage an outcome-based performance management system for employee group that contributes to Corporate Strategic Initiatives around Tenant experience and success.
  • Plan, project, and evaluate medium- and long-term work planning goals for department and functional areas.
  • Track, manage, follow up on KPI data and information
  • Proactively preparing for short- and medium-term deliverables, ensuring that work is delivered timely
  • Overall responsibility for financial budgets for departments and functional areas, preferably in zero-based budgeting environment
  • Project management principles for various departments and functional areas.
  • Meeting, reporting and collaborating through information sharing with other departments and leaders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields, such as Social Services, Law, Policing, Public Administration
  • Minimum of three (3) to five years’ experience in core functional areas.
  • Minimum of two (2) years leadership experience, preferably three (3) or more years of experience in a Senior leadership position.
  • Strong knowledge of providing Social Services to a complex and multi-faceted community, leading and developing Social and / or Community Programs.
  • An awareness of the London housing eco-system and understanding the operations of Local Housing Corporations would be a plus.
  • General knowledge of performing work in Unionized work environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of Public Administration or Public Sector workplaces.
  • Highly developed understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to align operations with business objectives
  • Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies.
  • Ability to identify measures of performance and actions needed to improve or correct performance.
  • Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Police Records Check

This position requires the successful candidate submit a current Police Records check from their local police service. A current LMCH employee who is the successful candidate for this position must also provide this document unless it is already on file and not more than one year old.

Salary & Benefits

Target salary range of $90,550.73 to $132,513.27 per annum; we also offer comprehensive health benefits and a defined benefit pension plan.
