Senior Manager, Executive Communications – Walmart Canada

About the Role
We’re looking for a strategic, business-minded communicator to help shape how Walmart Canada’s senior leaders connect, inspire and lead.
As a trusted advisor and hands-on storyteller, you will play a critical role in bringing Walmart Canada’s strategy to life through executive voice and visibility. Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications, you will partner closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to deliver clear, compelling, and consistent communications that engage associates, strengthen culture, and reinforce Walmart’s position as a purpose-driven, customer-first retailer.

This role operates at the centre of the business – translating strategy into communication that drives alignment, builds trust, and delivers measurable impact across a complex, fast-moving organization.

What you’ll do…
  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team, shaping how leaders communicate priorities, performance, and transformation.
  • Support executive communications strategy across Walmart Canada, ensuring leaders have aligned – but distinct and authentic – voices that reinforce enterprise priorities and reputation.
  • Anticipate risks and opportunities, providing proactive counsel that strengthens leadership credibility and visibility.
  • Develop high-impact content including speeches, presentations, talking points, video scripts, social content, and digital communications for internal and external audiences.
  • Coach senior leaders for key moments including town halls, associate forums, and high-profile events.
  • Build an “always-on” storytelling engine that highlights business momentum, innovation, and associate impact.
  • Collaborate with global and market communications partners to ensure enterprise alignment while reflecting Canadian context and relevance.
  • Manage workflow with executive offices, ensuring seamless planning, prioritization, and execution.
  • Utilize technology and emerging tools, including GenAI, to enhance reach, personalization, and efficiency.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and best practices to continuously evolve Walmart Canada’s executive communications approach.
  • Operate with precision in high-visibility, fast-paced environments with competing priorities.
  • Contribute to broader communications and enterprise initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in executive or corporate communications.
  • Experience in retail, CPG, or large, complex organizations preferred.
  • Experience leveraging digital tools and platforms, including AI-enabled communications, is an asset
