Job summary

The Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Manager, Actuarial Commercial Auto Pricing to lead the transformation of Commercial Auto pricing across Canada. This head-office role will require collaboration with internal stakeholders, advanced pricing models, and influence across Product and Underwriting.

Hybrid work options are available. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in actuarial pricing in P&C, strong analytical and leadership skills, and FCAS/FCIA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of actuarial pricing experience in P&C.
• Commercial auto pricing experience is an asset.
• Extensive knowledge of the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong leadership and collaboration abilities.
• FCAS or FCIA is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead pricing review of all commercial auto products with focus on pricing sophistication improvements.
• Recommend pricing strategies by product types and regulatory frameworks.
• Prepare regulatory filings ensuring actuarial practices are consistent with accepted standards.
• Remain up to date on pricing methodologies and industry developments.
• Monitor market conditions and apply insights to pricing analyses.
• Collaborate across company areas to identify profitable markets and products.
• Drive design, testing, and maintenance of pricing models and tools.
• Collaborate with technology on system implementation of pricing changes.
• Monitor portfolio performance and rate strategies effectiveness; share findings and solutions.
