Job summary

JBS Ontario facility in Belleville, Ontario is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead day-to-day maintenance operations. The role focuses on equipment reliability, safety, and cost control while supporting production goals and food safety standards.

You will manage unionized maintenance staff, coach teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance and compliance.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree/diploma and/or Journeyman certification with 5+ years of related engineering, maintenance and management experience.
• Experience in manufacturing, preferably in food/meat processing and unionized settings.
• Knowledge of WHMIS, labour relations, conflict resolution and communication.
• Advanced analytical skills and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Foster a strong health and safety culture and ensure safe practices.
• Supervise and coach unionized maintenance employees to meet production goals.
• Oversee preventative and routine maintenance programs for reliability.
• Achieve departmental budgets and control maintenance costs.
• Coordinate scheduling, performance management and disciplinary processes.
• Ensure compliance with CFIA, Health Canada, HACCP and safety standards.
