Job summary

Citi in Mississauga is seeking a Senior Mainframe Applications Developer to design, build, test, and support critical mainframe systems using COBOL, JCL, and CICS. You will own the full development lifecycle with a high degree of independence, advise teams on best practices, and serve as a go-to specialist for complex application challenges.

This role reports to Citi's Technology group, offers a hybrid work model with 3 days in office and 2 days remote, and opportunities to mentor junior

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience in systems analysis and applications development.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining applications with COBOL.
• Hands-on experience writing and managing JCL scripts.
• Practical experience developing with CICS.
• A track record of managing and delivering successful technology projects.
• Working knowledge of project management and consulting techniques.
• Ability to manage shifting priorities and tight deadlines without losing focus on quality.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• Coach junior developers and help define development standards for the wider team.

This role sits within Citi's Technology team, where you will take ownership of the full development lifecycle, from design through implementation, while advising teams on best practices. You will work with a high degree of independence, acting as a go-to specialist for complex application challenges.
