Role significance

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on the GenAI team, you will lead the development of data science products that enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Your focus will be on leveraging operational data to develop solutions that predict, forecast, and optimize inventory management and fulfillment strategies.

Key responsibilities:

1. Drive solutions: Design and implement machine learning and operations research approaches to solve business problems.
2. Collaborate with business teams: Work with Product, Store Operations, Fulfillment, and Management to gather data, define requirements, and establish success metrics.
3. Code solutions: Develop high-performance ML and OR models using Python, utilizing large structured and unstructured datasets.
4. Collaborate with engineering teams: Deploy models into production environments.
5. Design experiments: Measure the effectiveness of solutions through key metrics like labor rate, pick efficiency, and fill rate.
6. Share findings: Communicate results effectively and engage in technical discussions with data science teams.

Qualifications:

• MS or Ph.D. in a STEM field or BSc with equivalent experience in Data Science.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Experience with SQL, shell scripting/Unix.
• Interest in applied machine learning, predictive analytics, forecasting, and supply chain optimization.
• Ability to handle ambiguity and lead components within larger solutions.
• Creative, resourceful, and problem-solver mindset.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.

Preferred skills:

• Familiarity with LLMs and frameworks like Langchain.
• Experience with big data tools (Spark, Kafka, etc.), Airflow, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of software development best practices.
