Qualifications

  • 5+ years in logistics, distribution and transportation, preferably in CPG.
  • Exposure to Quality within manufacturing is preferred.
  • CCLP, P.Log and Six Sigma/Lean assets are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee logistics cost control, including accruals and SMR cost analysis (fumigation/fuel).
  • Coordinate with finance on monthly cost reviews with fuel consultants.
  • Analyze OSD data to identify root causes and mitigation strategies.
  • Drive carrier performance through Quarterly Performance Reviews and SLAs.
  • Act as SME for Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and resolve system issues.
  • Lead CI initiatives to improve logistics processes.
  • Manage sustainability data and report carbon emissions.
  • Oversee QMS policies across inbound logistics, distribution centers, and 3PLs.
  • Lead regional Logistics Quality Management Program and CAPA activities.
  • Direct audits (DQM, CFIA) and oversee pest control and waste management.
  • Maintain data registration systems (Smartsheet) and build Power-BI dashboards.
  • Draft, standardize, and audit SOPs for inbound/outbound logistics and warehouse processes.

Senior Logistics & Distribution Analyst - Royal Canin (Canada) (Finance)
Job Description:

The Senior Logistics & Distribution Analyst drives operational efficiency and cost control while ensuring strict Quality Management System (QMS) and Mars global quality compliance across all distribution and 3PL networks.

This role bridges the gap between logistics and quality by proactively managing risk, optimizing supply chain processes, and enforcing safety standards-including DQM, TSS, and Traceability-to deliver consistent, cost-effective, and compliant results.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, distribution, and transportation, ideally within the CPG industry (Food, Pet Food, or Packaging are strongly preferred).
  • In addition to the logistics and distribution experience, exposure to Quality within the manufacturing space is highly preferred.
  • Certified Canadian Logistics Professional (CCLP) designation would be an asset.
  • P.Log Certification would be an asset.
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean certification is considered an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to build business cases and work confidently with numbers.

What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Oversee logistics cost control, including accruals, financial reporting (SMR), and detailed cost analysis for activities such as fumigation and fuel.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for finance and manage monthly connects with fuel consultants to ensure cost accuracy and optimization.
  • Analyze overage, shortage, and damage (OSD) claims data to identify root causes and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Drive carrier performance through regular Quarterly Performance Reviews (QPRs), monitoring key metrics and ensuring service level agreements are met.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for escalating and resolving urgent operational issues "Hot Topics".
  • Act as a key user and subject matter expert for Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
  • Address and resolve system-related issues, such as ASN failures, to maintain operational fluidity.
  • Champion continuous improvement (CI) initiatives by identifying and executing process enhancements across logistics functions.
  • Manage and analyze sustainability data, with a focus on tracking and reporting on carbon emissions to support corporate environmental goals.
  • Oversee, implement, and enforce Quality Management System (QMS) policies, standards, and regulatory requirements across all inbound logistics, distribution centers, and 3PL warehouse operations.
  • Lead the regional Logistics Quality Management Program (QMP) and manage Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to ensure process integrity.
  • Direct all audit activities, including DQM and CFIA, and oversee critical compliance areas such as pest control and waste management.
  • Manage data registration systems (e.g., Smartsheet) and design quality metrics dashboards (e.g., Power-BI) to analyze, predict, and report on 3PL, supplier, and carrier quality compliance.
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Draft, standardize, maintain, and audit SOPs for inbound/Outbound logistics and warehouse processes, ensuring alignment with both regional and global supply chain quality expectations.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
