Job summary

Shannex Incorporated in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join the Opal Ridge Hall Enhanced Care team. You will thoroughly clean common areas, assist with resident laundry, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for residents and staff.

Ideal candidates bring a high school diploma, at least one year in commercial housekeeping or laundry, and knowledge of infection control. Training and pension benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate well with residents, families and team members.
• High level of initiative for completing housekeeping tasks efficiently.
• Commitment to warm, friendly, and customer-service‑oriented care.
• Knowledge of infection prevention practices is preferred.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean common areas including lobbies, hallways, and stairwells.
• Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, and sanitize kitchens and bathrooms.
• Collect and dispose of resident refuse per procedures.
• Document completed tasks and complete audits as required.
• Assist with resident laundry services on request.
• Communicate supply needs to supervisor promptly.
• Maintain safety by following procedures and using PPE.
