Job Description:

HITACHIRAIL is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior Linux Systems Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA.

Mission:

We are seeking an engaged and curious Senior Linux Systems Engineer. We need you to help us foster happy engineers delivering quality software at a high rate of speed, resulting in delighted customers.

Our focus areas include:

• Containerization and virtualization
• Development, test, and production environments
• Continuous delivery
• Tools
• Rich web application development for our intranet
• Process evolution
• Hardware design

Our stakeholders include:

• Customers
• Software engineers
• Test engineers
• Project teams
• Corporate IT, including cybersecurity

Our technology stack is always evolving. Currently, we use:

• Jenkins for CI/CD
• Git for revision control
• VMWare, KVM, QEMU for virtualization, Docker and Podman for containerization
• Python and Bash for automation tasks
• Django for internal web application development

Required Skills/Experience:

Minimum of 7 years of current 'hands-on' experience in Linux Systems Engineering/Administration.

Desired Skills/Experience:

Any Cisco Networking Certifications (CCENT or CCNA).

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
