Job summary

The Themesoft Inc team in Toronto is seeking a Senior Linux Administrator with extensive Azure Cloud experience for a 12-month contract in a hybrid work setup. You will manage Linux servers across on‑prem and Azure environments.

Responsibilities include installing and maintaining Linux systems (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu), managing Azure VMs, VNets, NSGs, storage and backups, monitoring performance, and automating tasks with Shell or Bash.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Linux system administration experience.
• Hands-on with RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud services.
• Knowledge of Azure VMs, VNets, NSGs, storage accounts, and backups.
• Experience in system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Scripting experience in Shell or Bash.
• Knowledge of security hardening, patching, and disaster recovery.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Linux Administrator with strong knowledge of Azure Cloud infrastructure, server administration, troubleshooting, and cloud operations. The candidate should have hands‑on experience managing Linux servers in on‑premises and Azure cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Manage Azure cloud infrastructure, including Virtual Machines, storage, networking, and backups.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure server availability.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, SSH, file systems, and security patches.
• Perform server upgrades, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Support cloud migration, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.
• Work with Azure networking, NSGs, VNets, and load balancing.
• Automate routine administration tasks using Shell or Bash scripting.
• Monitor infrastructure using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Handle incident management, root-cause analysis, and production support.

Required Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in Linux System Administration.
• Strong hands‑on experience with RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud services.
• Knowledge of Azure VMs, VNets, NSGs, storage accounts, and backups.
• Experience in system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Good knowledge of networking, DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, and SSH.
• Scripting experience in Shell or Bash.

Good to Have:

• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or other automation tools.
