Job summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Senior Licensing Officer for the Community Care Facilities Licensing team in Vancouver, BC. You will lead licensing activities, plan and coordinate services, and supervise staff within a collaborative, patient‑ and family‑centred framework.

This role requires a Bachelor's in an allied health discipline, five years of leadership experience in licensing, and a valid BC driver’s license.

• Five years recent related leadership experience in a community care facility licensing program or related field.
• Valid BC driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead licensing activities and coordinate services within the Community Care Facilities Licensing team.
• Establish practice standards, goals and objectives; participate in performance evaluation and staff selection.
• Facilitate staffing and scheduling activities; provide orientation and education programs.
• Identify and carry out quality improvement initiatives; act as a resource for staff and licensees.
• Carry a licensing officer caseload as required; supervise, train and coach staff.
• Assess development needs and promote evidence-based practices.

The salary range for this position is CAD $44.89/Hr. - CAD $56.07/Hr.

Come work as a Senior Licensing Officer with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) at the Community Care Facilities Licensing team in Vancouver, BC!

Within the context of a patient/client and family‑centred framework and continuum‑based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the organization, works in a team‑based environment and is charged with leading licensing activities in the health service delivery area. The incumbent may carry a licensing officer caseload. Duties include participating in the planning and coordination of licensing services, establishing practice standards, and goals and objectives, participating in performance evaluation and staff selection, facilitating staffing and scheduling activities, acting as a resource, assessing development needs/interests and providing orientation/education programs, and identifying and carrying out quality improvement initiatives.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in allied health discipline.
• Five years recent related experience in a leadership role working in a community care facility licensing program or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Valid BC drivers license.

The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly‑funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks. For all new hires and appointments to Vancouver Coastal Health, you will be asked to provide this information as part of the onboarding process.
