Webuild envisions, designs, and constructs major works and infrastructure for sustainable mobility, hydropower, water, and green buildings.

This position is part of the Connect 6ix project, which involves Toronto's new Ontario Line subway. The Connect 6ix consortium plays a key role in this project, delivering trains, signaling systems, and the operations, storage, and maintenance facilities. The consortium will also operate the Ontario Line for a 30-year term once it is operational.

Role and General Responsibilities :

  • Provide solution-oriented, practical, creative, and strategic legal advice to the project team regarding project execution, contract interpretation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with procurement and subcontract management teams to draft and negotiate subcontract agreements and related documents with vendors.
  • Assist in preventing, mitigating, and resolving claims and disputes related to delays, changes, insurance, and surety bonds.
  • Identify and advise on legal issues impacting the project, such as tariffs.
  • Prepare and present documentation on corporate legal matters to the joint venture executive leadership.
  • Provide and coordinate legal training for the project team.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Foster a productive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment grounded in integrity and professionalism.
  • Build strong partnerships and liaise with Contract Managers, in-house and external counsel, consultants, and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills :

  • 8+ years of active post-call legal practice experience.
  • Member in good standing or eligible for immediate membership with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Direct experience supporting major infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage deadlines.
