Qualifications

• 6-10 years of legal practice in law firms or as in-house counsel.
• Experience in commercial litigation and knowledge of privacy law is a plus.

• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including SaaS and product terms.
• Support junior lawyers and handle litigation matters, including class actions.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.

As Senior Legal Counsel, you will handle complex legal issues, negotiate agreements, oversee litigation, and advise stakeholders on legal risks. You will work with a supportive legal team on corporate, litigation, and compliance matters to support innovative initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including SaaS, license, and product terms
• Support junior lawyers and handle litigation matters, including class actions
• Assist with product safety and regulatory compliance
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
• Handle corporate compliance investigations and employment law issues
• Support other legal and commercial needs
• Report on legal and regulatory issues impacting business

Requirements

Education

• Law degree from a Canadian or recognized international law school
• Bar admission and good standing with the Law Society of Ontario or other Canadian province

Experience

• 6-10 years of legal practice, in law firms or as in-house counsel
• Experience in commercial litigation
• Knowledge of privacy law and employment law is a plus
