A career as a Senior Legal Advisor in the International Sanctions & Anticorruption Compliance Programs at the National Bank involves actively participating in risk management and developing programs to ensure compliance with international financial operation regulations and anti-corruption laws. You will serve as a key resource for creating, maintaining, and applying these compliance programs, leveraging your expertise in regulatory requirements for various initiatives.

Your role
  1. Produce international sanctions and anticorruption positions based on your interpretation of applicable laws
  2. Provide strategic advice, guidance, and notices in these domains
  3. Serve as an expert in sanctions and anticorruption content within the Bank’s activities
  4. Contribute to regulatory initiatives with various stakeholders
  5. Draft, review, and revise policies, standards, procedures, and guidance tools
  6. Manage governance activities related to regulatory filings on sanctions
  7. Contribute to the development of training modules on sanctions and anticorruption compliance
Your team

You will be part of the Compliance sector, working within the Compliance Programs, Independent Evaluations, and Governance team, reporting to the Chief of Global Sanctions and Anticorruption Compliance Programs. You will develop your expertise in a diverse and stimulating environment.

Qualifications
  • University law degree with 7 to 10 years of relevant experience
  • Member of a provincial bar
  • Leadership qualities and team collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of international sanctions and anticorruption law is an asset
  • Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills in English and French

Languages: Proficiency in English and French is required due to frequent interactions with service providers and partners speaking different languages.
