Your role

As a Senior Advisor, you will provide guidance and advisory services on Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) contract models and implement Lean Project Delivery Systems. You will be part of a dedicated national Collaborative & Lean Project Delivery Team, working directly with clients, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to facilitate successful project implementation. While your focus will be on IPD, you may also support on Progressive Design Build (PDB) and Alliance model deliveries.

Your goal is to become the trusted voice of the project, earning respect from clients and delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle. You should understand the differences between shared risk / reward contract models and other delivery models, and be willing to grow your skills in Lean thinking and Lean Project Delivery. You are comfortable challenging traditional tools and processes, recognizing opportunities to eliminate waste and improve value.

You are proactive in learning and applying new tools, strategies, and methodologies from Lean, IPD, and collaborative delivery lessons learned, working with the team to achieve optimal results. You value teamwork, can coach colleagues, and are open to feedback. Collaboration and process improvement are key aspects of your approach.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with clients to assess readiness for IPD, providing education and process improvement guidance during early Pre-Validation.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, education sessions, and Lean & IPD workshops to prepare for project delivery.
  • Support clients in finalizing their business case, value proposition, and initial Conditions of Satisfaction.
  • Develop strategies for procuring IPD teams.
  • Assist IPD teams throughout all project phases, including Pre-Validation, onboarding, Validation, Design, Construction, and Commissioning.
  • Facilitate workshops (Values Alignment, IPD & Lean Bootcamps, Target Value Delivery) and lead regular engagement sessions with project teams.
  • Train and advise teams on Lean methods, including Last Planner System implementation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and project teams, ensuring satisfaction.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for project and process effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance, tools, templates, and processes to support project delivery.
  • Leverage internal team structures and coaching to support responsibilities and mentor junior advisors.
  • Travel as needed to project locations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years experience in design or construction industry.
  • Experience with IPD facilitation and / or collaborative contracting, leveraging Lean Project Delivery, integrated design, and early contractor involvement.
  • Knowledge of traditional design, construction, and operation processes.
  • Degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, and organizational skills; ability to influence and resolve issues.
  • Understanding of contract models and advising clients on value propositions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and online collaboration tools.
  • Lean, Lean Design, Lean Construction Management, Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset but not required.
